What is the Waste Disposal Voucher Scheme?
All residential ratepayers in the Litchfield municipality are entitled to one Waste Disposal Voucher valued at $150 from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. This offer is subject to one voucher per household.
Vouchers were mailed to eligible ratepayers in April 2025 to the mailing address provided by you for your rates notice.
How does your free waste disposal voucher work?
The voucher system entitles a residential property owner within the Litchfield Council Municipality to a Waste Disposal Voucher, the Voucher has fifteen (15) uses at a value of $10 each use. The Voucher is issued against the residential property and is not transferable to residents of another property. Landlords are encouraged to pass the vouchers on to tenants.
How to use the voucher
Present your voucher QR Code at the waste facility gatehouse where a staff member will assess your load. The QR Code will be scanned and deducted from the allocated number of uses.
What can be disposed of?
The voucher is valid for use of disposal of the below items that have fees applied to them at Howard Springs and Humpty Doo Waste Transfer Stations. If needed, multiple vouchers can be used at any given time.

Vouchers will be rounded to $10 increments. Charges will continue to apply for commercial waste disposal.
Waste types not included
Vouchers cannot be used for the disposal of commercial waste, prohibited items.
When is the voucher valid until?
Vouchers are valid until 31 March 2026.
Separate your recyclables
Recyclable items will be requested to be separated from your waste, as this is what is sent to landfill.
Lost and unused voucher
Once vouchers expire they cannot be redeemeed.
