Litchfield Council adopted the 2014/2015 Municipal Plan at its Ordinary Meeting of Council on Thursday 10th July.

Council received submissions from the community during the 21 day consultation period.  All submissions are appreciated and considered by elected members prior to the final adoption of the budget.

The average increase for a residential property equates to 91cents a week, with Litchfield residential land owners paying $1023.26 and Litchfield Urban land owners paying $1462.10.

The sum is made up of the land levy, waste charge and waste transfer station levy.

The level of required rates and charges has been kept to a minimum by limiting the number of new initiatives and focusing more on renewal of existing infrastructure. $1.9 million will spotlight on a resealing program covering 36 roads in the Municipality.

Council have shown their dedication in addressing the outstanding repairs and maintenance on Council’s infrastructure by adopting a plan which incorporates $1 million from reserves funds to aid this issue.

The Municipal Plan outlines what the financial year’s developments for Council will focus on based on the decisions of the Strategic Plan, which sets the long term vision for the future use, development, protection and direction of the Municipality.
