Council is offering de-sexing vouchers to provide residents with financial assistance to de-sex their dogs.
Over the 2018-19 year, only 20% of dogs that were in Council's pound were de-sexed.
De-sexed dogs may be much less likely to escape from their properties, become lost or look for fights with other dogs.
The Council's de-sexing voucher does not cover the full cost of de-sexing, it provides a $100 voucher to put towards the cost.
Contact a participating vet for the full cost.
