  • Animal Management

    Council's Regulatory Services team provide residents with information about responsible dog ownership, investigate dog attack, dog menace and dog nuisance complaints, collect stray dogs and also microchip dogs.   • Mobile Work Force

    The mobile work force provides slashing and weed control for Council’s land, road reserves and easements. The team work a yearly schedule to cover the region, spread over 3,000kms with 750km of roads.


  • Thorak Cemetery

    Situated amid natural bushland just a short drive off the Stuart Highway or McMillians Road you can find Thorak Regional Cemetery. 


  • Recreation Reserves

    There are seven recreation reserves in the Litchfield Municipality, each offering a special range of activities and healthy fun.  Come along and visit a reserve, play some sport, ride a horse, have a picnic or have some fun at a skate park.


  • Waste Management

    Litchfield Council provides waste management and recycling services to ratepayers, residents and commercial users through its three Waste Transfer Stations; Humpty Doo, Howard Springs and Berry Springs.


Litchfield Council’s Annual Community Grants Award Night was held last Wed 4 June. The Scheme is an initiative from Council where your recycling efforts go back to our community sporting, cultural, schools and service groups. It is one of the ways Council actively supports community organisations to contribute to community prosperity, enhancing Litchfield’s liveability and making it the best place to live in the Top End. This year we received 20 strong applications and distributed $30,000 to twelve community groups. I wish to thank the community for their input into the Draft Municipal Plan.
