The Litchfield Shire (as known until 2008) was named after Frederick Henry Litchfield and the land is the traditional home of the Larrakia, Woolner and Djowei Aboriginal people.

Litchfield Municipality offers a diverse range of historal sites and sets itself as a base for the intrepid adventurer, with so much to offer both locals and visitors alike, you will be entertained at what Litchfield Municipality encompases.
