Water Bores
The majority of properties in the Litchfield Municipality provide their own water by way of a bore.
Some properties have access to town water supply and landholders should make themselves aware, as early as possible, of their connection point. Some 'spaghetti lines' as they are commonly referred, are located over a kilometre from the property and breaks and leakages to the pipes over a possible 1 km distance is the responsibility of the landholder. Power and Water Corporation responsibility ends at the meter.
Any works undertaken within a road reserve needs the approval of Litchfield Council- works section or the Department of Planning and Infrastructure.
Irrigation Systems
Know the workings of the bore installed, its pressure pump and reticulation layout of the block and how it supplies your household water supply.
Lightning and bores are not good partners - ensure you unplug your bore during severe electrical storms to minimise the likelihood of terminal damage to your pump with a direct hit.
